Default o line blocking ???

guys whats the BEST way to set your offenseive line up....for running plays

1. have them set uo so the form a wedge and plow foward ???

2. have them set up so the center and right tackle go right...and the left tackel and left guard go left to try to open a hole???

3.or all linemen slant right or left and have the back pointed that way???

the main way i set them is to try to form a wedge...have you had better experince doing the others or is there something else im missing....brian

i think that it depends on what kind of running play and result that you want (sometimes it's good to just gain a couple of yards). at times, i'll try and open up a hole, like you are saying, and run through the line. sometimes i'll slant all of my o-linemen one direction and run that way, sometimes i'll set up that way but run the opposite direction with a guard being pulled, a bit of a counter. i guess that it all depends on where the strength of your o-line is, and using it to your advantage. and, a little bit of luck never hurt anything either!

YOU CAN DO ALL THE ABOVE STUFF, JUST NEED TO HAVE YOUR OFFENSIVE STYLE DETERMINED (BY YOU) AND MISX THEM UP.

Hi Brian,

As was mentioned previously it really depends on the play. Believe it or not there are one or two plays where you can even have all of your linemen, except the center, moving backwards. A lot depends on how creative you are with your running game. Hope this helps.

Default It Depends...

...on the situation. But, in the context of solitaire - which I think you're asking, Brian - I just put all my guys straight and let them play. Or, put them all on rookies, whichever is more fesible for you.

I just have all muy offensive line turn around and run away from the play since they can't push anybody anyway.

I used this a few times in a game to create better pass protection.
