Texas over Penn St 14-3 at the half. It was 7-3 with 6 seconds left but Mike Robertson hit a 45-yard pass for a TD. Huge play, capping an 85-yard drive.

UCLA 14, Texas Tech 0. 2nd quarter.

I just returned on my computer, and tried the ustream broadcast. it's working quite well (especially sound), but we can't see the game, we just see coaches' backs


Anyway, well done, great technical improvement for us, I hope a lot of major events will be broadcasted too.

Broadcast was temporarily offline. It's back now. Championship still scheduled for 1 or 1:30 west coast time.

Yeah the broadcast now is just a test. The wireless connection is weak so the computer has to be in a certain position in the room. So we can't broadcast the semifinal games. The championship board setup is down at this end of the room, so the camera angle will be perfect.

For information purpose, I'll post my feedback on the broadcast.

It worked quite well, no interruption (only a few freezes, one during the last Penn State touchdown ), it was a lot of fun watching a game in LA from my country.

This morning I'm a little tired (I went to sleep on 2am during the begining of 4th quarter), but it was an interesting experience. I saw good game, I was impressed by defense play (tactics and athletes eficiency, a lot of sacks).


This broadcasted game allowed me to see in action some rules and theory too : figures placing, "The Box", etc... wich is very usefull.


On the technical side of the broadcast, the sound was particulary good. THe light was good too so the camera placing.

the zooms on action were usefull too, but see critics #1



"constructive criticism" :

- place some chairs or whatever in the camera range, so people can't pass in front of it and hide the game ( even an elbow can cause the loss of camera focus). Or perhas mount the camera on a little stand near the gameboard, focused on play ?

Perhaps make a copy and paste of gaming report text in the chat box and on the forum, so we can understand some of the plays better without having to go on MFCA forum (or perhaps hire a sports speaker ? )

I know that some coaches here are very good amateur or semi pro/pro cameramen, making great vids for youtube or websites. They should take a look on that streaming live webtv concept too.


But anyway, it was a great effort to have broadcasted this game. Now, you're internationaly known coaches


I hope other leagues will have the same idea, because the concept about seeing live this game and spread it to the world is very interesting.

As another fan watching the game yesterday (sorry I forgot the nick) said (more or less) : "when you see that, you see how much the game evolved and is not the toy with figures turning in circles anymore".
