![]() While there are various offensive and defensive systems in the NFL, I am trying to cut mine to 4. For the purpose of my playchart, I am looking at 4 different types of offensive systems that were prevalent in the NFL.
1. Power - straight ahead running team, power sweeps I classify teams such as Pittsburgh, Dallas, Oakland, Chicago and afew others. They had great running games, good receivers that were not called on all the time but would arise to the occassion. 2. West Coast - Classic dink and dunk but could hit you with a multiple of formations. The classic pass to set up the run teams. Teams that come to mind were San Francisco 49ers. 3. Run and Shoot teams of the 80's and 90's - The Oilers and Falcons 4. Passing Attacks - Air Coryell, John Elway 5. Zone Blocking Teams - Denver Broncos What I am doing is creating my playbook and defensive scenarios based on these various team personalities. I want the team that used a certain type of system to be able to play under that system. I want the defenses schemed toward those systems. This creates many scenarios. Games will be 100 plays so during the course of the game, opportunities to make plays will be there fo4r both the offense and defense. I have a set of 4 Exotic plays which will be used against exotic defensive schemes in special situations. Can anyone think of any type of systems not covered here? Reg |

![]() I don't know if this qualifies as an offensive system, but given the fact that you play shoot-out style rules, you should play the 1990s Buffalo Bills style No-Huddle.
Also, if you have any current teams, I guess you would have to think of using the Wildcat offense. |
