PASS SIMULATION IN 2 SECONDS
Coaches who enjoy pass simulation
When you add two (2) seconds to throw the ball when the board is stopped simulates the constant pressure qb's are alway under. In football once the ball is snapped and it is a pass play, the qb is under heavy duress until he throws the ball. Why do you think many qb's throw the ball away multple times during a game. THAT ADDED PRESSURE OF THE LINEMAN COMING. This can be simulated also in elkctric football. Once the board is stopped does not mean the lineman should stop coming. of course due to the physics of the game everything stops once the board is turned off. But mentally, board stops, one 1 thiousand, two 1 thousand simulates the lineman still coming. In that two (2) seconds you must 1)indentify your primary receiver 2) or go through your qb progression in 1 second, look for 2cnd or third options or a checkdown to a rb. 3)Pick up the right size stick or the throw 4)place the stick down near the receiver of choice to simulate you as the QB delivering the ball before you are sacked or knocked down. ah la HURRIED. ***ALL OF THIS IN TWO SECONDS. It does take a skill to do this as you will see what kind of qb you are. None of this drinking coffee, going and get the paper, check your messages on your blackberry, then you measure for the pass. This two (2) second time limit will indicate TO YOU ONLY, if your able to read defenses, identify where the safties and linebackers are, and thecoverages the db's are playing. YOU MAY THINK, OH LOOK, HE'S OPEN. SOME SKILLED COACH WILL TURN A SAFETY OR LINEBACKER TO MAKE AN INSTANT PICK. ***YOU HAVE TWO SECONDS TO BE SURE OF A RECEIVER !!!!! The next game you watch, count the seconds the qb has once the ball is snapped and watch where they defensive lineman and linebackers are. Especially on a blitz. THESE 2 SECONDS WILL ALSO TEACH YOU HOW TO THROW BETTER PASSES ONCE THE ROUTE IS COMPLETED. COUNT THE SECONDS DURING THE NEXT GAME, YOU'LL SEE ***WHEN THE BOARD IS STOPPED, IMAGINE THE DEFENSE COMING AFTER YOU AND THEY ARE ALMOST THERE. SO YOU MUST THINK SUPERFAST. THANX MANTARAYDRE

2seconds to measure and put the stick sounds really too fast for the poor newbie I am
Anyway, when you stop the board, you already know what receiver you'll choose, no ? On my board it's what I do : cut on the board.....and.....CUT OFF just when the receiver I "readed" is in the best place possible. Perhaps we can use a alternative rule : imagine when you cut down the board, you have to say the number (clear and loud) of the receiver you choose, so your QB choice is made under pressure ? |

Dre...
...2 seconds is to fast for all of those steps.. Dmitri is right in that by the time you turn off the board you should already have your receiver selected. Now if you give a coach 2 seconds to put down the sticks AFTER the board stops then I could roll with that. What you would have is a coach having 2 seconds to put down the correct stick and place the ball down before the two second is up...not as easy as it sounds and you must place the ball in an area away from the defense and in line with the receiver.
More realistic to me.

With my big fingers, measuring the helmet to helmet distance is already a perfomance...if I have to do that in just 2 seconds, a lot of players will fall behind the hand of "god"

Perhaps 5 seconds is better. That gives you time to place the stick from helmet to helmet, put down the stick, and place the ball down. After a while you'll need to become pretty good at eyeballing the distance and placing the ball away from the defenders. That was not easy when I used stick placement in my solitaire league as I played zone defenses. I had defensive guys in most areas of the field. That may be why I had almost as many INT's as TD's.

For me, as long as the coach make his choice fast on board turn OFF, I'm happy with it.
Perhaps I'll see for complexity in a few games. For now it's already enough faster and pressurized for my taste and skills |

I can't even say 'passing sticks' in 2 seconds, let alone try to pick one up and place it down again...

I think my rule of yelling the number of the receiver when you turn off the board is not as stupid as it may look...It can transform the MF game in a hybrid between football and Uno card game
"UNOOO !!!! hum, I meaned 84!!! 84!!!" Does UNO even exists in USA ? |

You, as the QB, should be reading the coverage, checking receivers and keeping an eye on the lineman AS the play is going. IMO, the QB should say the intended receiver's name/number simultaneously with board stoppage, simulating when the ball is being released.
