Default COLLEGE FOOTBALL

I just read a recap on Nevada being the 1st NCAA team to have 3 different 1,000 yard rushers in the same season!?! WOW! That sounds like Jim Davis' style of smashmouth football being played out there!

It also got me to thinking. Will we ever see every team represented at any given tournament? As opposed to - allow me to Dodge the rocks that'll start flying in a moment - seeing 10 each of Michigan, Notre Dame, Florida and USC, just to name a few of the schools that are heavily repped. What about the Easterns or Westerns or Southerns or Northerns that every state has? I guess that's what solitaire is for. Too bad. I'd love to see it. And before too many of you say who cares about the perrenial losers in real life, let's remember that Norbert's Mean Green of DARTMOUTH are 2-time Champs in different venues. So it has been done.

Here's my challenge: who would dare pimp out a lowly university and coach them to infamy as Norbert did 2 years ago over, not 1, but 2 MICHIGANs???

Since attending 3 AJ's College Tourneys, I've compiled a few lists of which teams were represented, as well as at a few other college-themed leagues and events. Out of the 250+ members of the MFCA, I've only got 74 different teams ever used!?! I know everyone should play with their favorite team, but maybe one day we could see more teams at future events.

Default Good Point

Jimbo I agree with you. I liked the fact that the CBSMF had Saginaw Valley in the big game. My Chattanooga Mocs made some noise (not a lot). But how 'bout more of the Coastal Carolina's, Western Michigan, North Dakota state, J.C. Smith. This upcoming season I'm thinking of fielding Alabama State. Not the greatest team, but for MF purposes why not.?

Next college league I'm in, I'm running my alma mater, Evansville. We don't even have football anymore.

Default I KNOW THERE WILL ALWAYS BE DOUBLES...

...but try a new team unless of course you played on that team like Greg and his SagValState.

Funny you mentioned Coastal Carolina, they were on the board last year out in L.A. I hear FAMU will be debutting there next season.

All should know by now that all teams are not created equal and just because they dont get the spotlight on nationally televised games, the MF world is different with the increase in streaming video. Your very own JuCo could spank OSU on any given gameday!

With that said, I think I'll start getting the COWBOYS of Wyoming ready! Just kidding.

Default I am suggesting to the new commish of the CBSMF...

.....that no doubles be allowed. I have a few choices that I am going with that no-one ever wants. Jimbo it is funny you said Wyoming my brother starred there in the late 80's. Ugly uniforms but they had good team. Dennis Ericson was his coach. They called there receivers the smurfs. Brother stood 5'9 and James Loving was 5'8 but they could catch. I told him I was thinking about bringing his 87 team out.

Default RYAN YARBOROUGH

Played a few years of Pop Warner with the NCAA's receiving yards leader from WYOMING. Fastest kid in the county!!! Most famous moments was when we flipped each other blitzing on back to back punt plays.

Default PUT EM IN A HAT.

Put all the teams in a hat and have a "team draft", except for the returning Champ. Then work out trades and get hot.

If I'd ever play I'd surely play with the Pittsburgh Panthers

I don't think anybody has played with them, unless they repped the Marino era
