Default New painting article on MFCA.org

Hi,

Here the last article I made for advanced painting technics :

http://miniaturefootball.org/2010/01...-step-by-step/

In that article, you'll see how I paint my figures skin tone. No magic but method, as always in modelling.

BTW...You'll see that I don't use (or for other very particular things) drybrush !

I hope it will help.

Default Hey French Guy....

Would you consider writing an article for The Tweak?

Of course I want to write in Tweak, and of course I'll do !

The only problem is to find big articles to write. I've got some ideas, but I need time to achieve something good. Some of my ideas : "hardcore" customizing (90-100 % pure figure sculpting), stadium building, field accessories/figures modelling, etc...

WHen I write articles for MFCA.org website, I write little articles, often (most of the time) based on the figures I'm actually working on (decals for my niners, skin tones for my Bucs, etc...). To make (IMHO) a good "paper" article, I have to go deeper than that.

I believe my next article for Tweal will concern field accessories, since I need some for my own gameboard.

And since I love modelling, I'll do something of the same level than my teams, gameboard or field goal posts...

If you have other ideas you want me to study, feel free to ask. I'll do my best, with my time and material possibilities.

Thanks for all your contributions! The painting article is great. even short articles make for great additions to the Tweak, that way a coach can have a hard copy to refer to if he needs! Thanks again!

You're right, but I believe adding short content in the internet "showcase" of the MFCA can be a good idea too : the articles are short enough to be readed fast, the web pics detailed enough too for easy tutorial following.

And more important in my opinion, it adds related information ("good advertisement") to the hobby. As a beginner (since I joined you september 2009), what I liked first in the MF hobby was a)the competitive and technical aspect b)the modelling aspect. And of course, 100% of the first information I found was on the internet.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe in USA miniature football 's got a "impossible to play" - child toy reputation, and I believe internet should be the first media to "reverse the steam" (not sure if the expression exists in english... ) these days.

The goal, IMHO, is to give MF the same highlight we see for other electric-technical hobbies like slot racing, or model railroading : hobbies everybody tried first during their childhood, and now they grown up they can live again that spirit but with their adult skills....and wallet

Tweak mag gives the opportunity to make deeper articles for users already hooked by the hobby, where you can detail things, since the reader can read, and read again the info, take the magazine on their desk for reference, etc...

See the typical beginner questions :

how we play ?
how we tweak the simple way ?
how we paint and decal ?

that questions should be treated in priority on internet.

Advanced questions for people already interested :

How we paint or model that or that particulary ?
how do you sculpt that or that ?
how do you make advanced strategies/formations/rules ?
how do you tweak the hardcore way ? (base optimization, hybrids, theorical point of view on the bases/position relationship, etc...)

that questions should be treated in Tweak magazine.

Remember it's my personal feelings and opinions, that words are not burned in the stone. But it 's what I feel and it's the line I expect to follow myself
