Default Its TOO quiet...Annual MFCA Business meeting items wanted

In preparation for the annual business meeting held at the convention, each year I ask the membership for suggestions, complaints, get rid of this's, add that's and any other ideas that the membership may have to improve the MFCA. This request usually either gets no response or ends up in a thread that gets moved to the Free For All. What's it going to be this year?

Ideas can include thoughts on improving the MFCAL, bettering the website, where the convention should be held, costs, if we are accomplishing our goals and mission, etc etc etc....

Think outside the box for a minute and go ahead and post things that you dream of us achieving as well as the more realistic year to year goals.

It's summer, that's why it's quiet.

I'll have the 2011 budget plan ready as usual.

The only improvement I'd like to see if for others to take some of the responsibility off of your back. You have a big job, so I can see why there are times where you want to step down.

The only issue I have with the site is that the "Bumping" of threads Irritate me. Yes, I'm guilty at times too. Not sure if it's just me or if others feel the same?

MFCA Good Job Wolf & BOD

I think you guys do a great job with this forum. I like the idea that you're cleaning this site up. When a newbie browses it , they are gonna see a good representation of the hobby.

Should there be a limit for sellers not to become a sponsor ?
If a seller sells more than 30 transactions a year , then maybe they should become a sponsor.

Other than that I think the biggest thing that could happen is a tournament , not the convention .
If the M.F.C.A. ever had a tournament , I think it would be the biggest tourny ever!
However you do know that means that their has to be a universal rule set agreed upon by a committee

This site is going in the right direction and you guys are to be commended !

Jeff, There is a tourney called the CPC, Coaches Points Challenge. The winner goes against the winner of this years MFCAL for a $500 ring. I have had others say that this is not a tourney, but I disagree to a certain level. It is different from most, but it still ends up with an overall winner. Maybe we haven't advertised that well enough.

Default Tourney

Jeff,

As Wolf said the CPC is a tourney but not in the format that most people understand as a tourney.

I have proposed to the Board of Directors a series of Regional Tournaments leading up to a National Tournament to be held at the annual convention and, in my opinion also, would need to have a universal rule set. So it is something we are looking at.

Would you be willing to work on a committee for a universal rule set?

Thanks,
Chris

plan for just an MFCA tournament. do it in Texas, either Dallas, san antonio or my best option, the Houston Area. i know most of our population is ...

1- N east
2-westcoast
3-middle america
4-gulfcoast...

maybe even have 4 tourneys a year...

if everyone gets on the ball, we could pull off 2-day tourneys, thats way cheaper than 1 4 day tourney per year.

suggested sites...

1-chicago/newyork/penn.
2-LA/Vegas/sanfran
3-kansas/nebrasksa or even northern oklahoma
4- dallas/houston....
i like houston obviously because its close to me, but the ease of driving is best because its on IH-10, this highway goes from cali to florida and all in between.
