MFCA HOF INDUCTEES 2010

Fellow enthusiasts and hobbyists,

As a previous Tweak contributor and keen observer in our great hobby, I am soliciting background and information on each of this year's inductees. I know each of them and have had the extreme priviledge of crossing paths with many of these fine leaders over the years. They are all humble people and don't unnecessarily seek the limelight. It is in this spirit that I will attempt to chronicle their often unpublicized EF and community works

However, I do need some additional foundation and insight from you to highlight the truly remarkable gifts that each of them have brought to the hobby. If the information has already been overed on this site or in the Tweak - we can highlight and point to that.

So, with your help I would like to learn more about each of them so I can pen a multi-series blog all the way up to the convention. I need your stories, observations, testimonies, memories, and insights about:

- Lavell Shelton
- David Nickles
- Myron Evans
- Mike Pratt

I think I have enough foundation on the last two. Because many of you are closer to the first two - I could use your help. We all know that what we have captured wonderful memories of them in our home and travel leagues on a deeply personal level. My sense is that we accumulated richer and more compelling experiences with them that when brought into sharper focus and context - will reveal the essence of these fine representatives.

My goal is not to lavish unnecessary praise on them - but rather to demonstrate to our aspiring and future members of the hobby (and HOF) those attributes and qualities which serve most to enrich our hobby and can propel you to greatness. While trite and overused - it is not what you take from the hobby of miniature football - it is what you give. These gentlemen are more than worthy of their inductee status - they are givers.

By now you should realize that wins and losses alone have little to do with our shared realization of a what a MFCA Hall of Famer embodies. Your stories and quips will help us better understand the true character of each of them. With your help, I will serve as the lens and mouth piece for you.

Correction:

These four are the nominees for this year's HOF Induction Ceremony. Only two will be inducted. I still want the information about them.

I just want to make it clear that I had this mixed up.

So, don't treat this like a poll or vote. It is not a popularity contest. They are all deserving. We (MFCA leadership) have already selected them for their achievments.

Just like the NFL - you can stay on the ballot and make it in on subsequent years.
