Default French MF crusade

Hi,

In the next weeks (I don't know exactly when), there is a major Blood Bowl tourmanement in France, called "Eurobowl". About 100-150 people from all over Europe, not only France !

They are playing a fantasy (orcs, vampires, goblins, etc...) football tabletop game, dices, charts and rulers oriented, so I don't know if they will be interested in our game.

BUT I contacted the organizators, who kindly invited me to come and present demos, etc... Even if it doesn't bring any new MFers in Europe, I believe it stills a good opportunity to present the game to european people. Nothing sure for now (needs to see the dates of the event, and maybe call a friend to help me), but...I prefer to already think about it.

So I was wondering if MFCA has a program for that, with trading cards, flyers, posters or whatever to promote the game ?

Same thing for MFCA sponsors or other manufacturers (who accepts to ship worldwide) : if some of them 's got flyers, promotionnal posters of whatever, it can be interesting too, since one of the biggest issue here is to find gaming material.

ANother question, is there anyone having advises on how to make good gaming demos (ruleset, timing, communication, etc...) ?

thanks

PS : I'll post here the new "episodes" of the crusade

Cards, the MFCA can do for sure. I have some fliers that we can revise to read in French that I could send for you to print in color or Black and White.

A brochure is severely needed and Don Lang, the new head of the marketing committee is going to start pursuing this very soon. (any one want to join Don on the committee?...c'mon you sluff offs!)

Dimitri, I'll email you the flyer and then we can work together on revising it to make it appealing to the French. Maybe add a croissant with football laces in place of the flying football.

Ok, thanks !

I'm waiting for the event date for now. Perhaps if the event is in a few weeks, it will be a good idea to send me some DVDs and cards, we'll see.

But as you said, first we'll see for some translations.

Other sponsors who wants to touch the european crowd, don't hesitate to contact me on the board or PM too.

Hi,

@Weirdwolf : I didn't received any mail?

Perhaps you're waiting for my own email (pics we spoke about), unfortunatly, I just came home 2 hours ago (bike meeting, my first one ), and didn't have time (and to be honest, courage ) to make anything MF related today. I'll see that tommorow morning.

Anyway, I have the date for the event : 17october. I have to think about all that stuff (see if I can find a friend to come with me to do demos, what teams I should take, etc...). I'll come back on the topic soon, today I'm too tired to think

Default UPDATE

Hi,

Just to inform you about my progress in building MFCA Europa

First, I found in real life a local guy (about 50 kilometers of my home), I knew him from slot cars hobby. He's a famous h0 slot cars resin bodies maker :

http://racleg.free.fr/

This guy is very talented (modelling, painting, sculpting), and loves miniature figures gaming. I have to organize a demo game to show him MF. And then...We'll see what will happen.

I also know (on internet miniature and football forums) that at least 2 new french guys are interested by the game : one is focused (for now) only on the modelling side of the hobby, as a football fan he wanted to put his passion in a creative hobby. Perhaps he will play also one day.

the other one is interested by the whole hobby. But I don't know if he will be hooked, finally.

I'm also planning (depanding of the calendar) to go to 2 major gaming conventions in my aera:

first, in october, the "eurobowl", the biggest european Blood bowl (tabletop fantasy football, played with dices and charts) event of the year. About 150 gamers from all over europe will be there. The organizators invited me to show demos of MF.

Then, in november, the "stratejeux" event. A gaming (tabletop oriented) convention, where you can find all the games you can play, from monopoly to complex historic wargames, or even pinballs and arcade games too. Some friends (arcade and pinball community) of mine invited me to the event to make demos of MF too.

Tommorow, I'll make some pics for weirdwolf. I have to work with him to translate MFCA communication material in french. So I'll be able to spread flyers, dvds and stuff like that during the events.

Because France and USA are very similar in a particular way : they are not so good in foreign languages It's why one day (=when I 'll find at least ONE other french guy as involved as I am, with a french league, etc..) it should be a good thing to have a french-speaking league forum on MFCA to develop it too, I think.

Well...it's all for now. So beware, USA, France will be there soon

New update : I created a blog on internet :

http://sportsurtable.blogspot.com/

this blog will speak about all table sports : miniature football of course, but also table soccer, table hockey, and certainly some table racing too (h0 scale slot car racing ) or even carrom (indian wood billard)

the goal is to purpose some french speaking content, with easy to understand sports (hockey, soccer) to bring them ALL on miniature football !!!

But the real real goal is to create interest LOCALLY and CREATE A MINIATURE SPORTS CLUB/LEAGUE. I'm having fun with you sharing and chatting on the internet, but I really want to make real gaming in real life, not only solo scrimmages and casual gaming with family or not really interested friend.

In the future I'll certainly share some articles with the MFCA : translations of my english articles, mainly.

Hi,

I added some links to MFCA FRANCE, the section Weirdwolf created for french articles.

http://sportsurtable.blogspot.com/20...ca-france.html

I think it's a better idea than copying articles from one website to another one. I believe, for miniature football, that I'll continue to create articles mostly for the MFCA (mfca france, mfca.org, and tweak) and I will just put "teasing" articles on my blog.

I believe in MFCA purpose, so I think making it as international as possible is the best solution.

Default demo teams

Keeping the french crusade in mind, I re-worked my Niners offensive squad (+optional players), and added easy to read positions names.

Here's the current results. You can see that my Steelers squad is not ready

I continue my french crusade, wit an article I wrote on one of the best football blogs here in France :

http://elitefoot.blogspot.com/

I also created a topic on "Trictrac" community forum. That forum is dedicated to all the boardgames. Not only the fantasy and scifi figures wargames (wargames boards where I didn't find really success in my attempts to make the game known...), BUT all the games and simulations you can play on a table : racing, sport, historic, fun, etc...

I already found a lot more interest than in any other (us football, wargames related websites) place, and interesting questions about the game.

http://www.trictrac.net/jeux/forum/v...ic.php?t=84477

Now cross fingers...
