Default If I ever built a league again, this is...

what I would need -WORKER BEES!!!!

I have no doubt that if I had WORKER BEES, I could build a great miniature football league.

I have always imagined having a league in the DFW where everyone worked hard, not just want to play, but understand the value of promotion, of playing games on schedule, and supporting my products. I did so much of the work from recruiting to promotions to playing to giving people the place the play and crash/sleep. Giving away things/equipment was just the normal routine.

So much was taken for granted. Not enough was given. When you could do what we were capable of as a league, it would have been great. The Road Warrior concept was started there in 95 when I asked Frank Johnson to join. It ended with Jim Davis and Norbert Revels. Those were good times and great guys to bring into a league.

I loved the competitive spirit of the coaches and the willingness to help each other out. What I hated was the "Bigger than the whole" mentality of some and the rolling of the eyes of some when you tried to promote the league.

In the past few days I had some approach me about being apart of a new league in the DFW. I am always intrigued but after 17 years of running and being associated with a league, my thoughts are that WORKER BEES definitely would have to be in place.

Competition is great but you don't have to win every time! Win a game and lose a league!

Default Don't want to be the Queen Bee, just...

one of the worker bees. The recruitment of coaches would be the easy part. Frank, you were one of the best workers in the league. You never frowned upon the promotion because you saw the bigger picture always. Definitely, when we go to Vegas, I need you there to help in the broadcast and promotions of that weekend.

Raiderman, one of the things I regret over the years is us not having the chance to play in a league together. I always thought you were one of the most enthusiastic guys in the game and would have loved working with you.

Artlax, you are definitely another one who sees the big picture. There are some who simply promote themselves and those like yourself that promote the game. One day, you should come visit me in Arlington for some good ole' football fun. With your passion, we'd be doing some major things.

It's a shame that talent like the aforementioned is so far widespread that it makes life difficult to bring them altogether. What a shame!!!

Reg,

If you played in the Harrisburg League you would be happy to know that I do all the work! LOL!! I know exactly what you're saying though.
