NFL Game Time???

Fellas,
It looks like the NFL has their own version of electric football. They call it:
Game Time: Electronic Football. I saw this add in a JC Penny ad this week end. It has a game clock, control knobs and looks like our favorite Tudor#600 board. I can 't make out any figures but they use our terminology" Strategize your game plan and crush your opponents". Has anyone seen this product?

It's not electric football at all. I don't know exactly what it is but it doesn't vibrate. It "electronic". It reminds me of the old Monday Night fotball game with roger Staubach on the box.

Yeah I saw it at JC Penney's the other day. From a distance it had me fooled, but when I opened it up I was disappointed. It's basically an electronic game of strategy. At each end is a hidden set of dials that you call your play with. Then you run the play and the game tells you what happened. It is marketed by Excalibur Electronics the same company with the new MF game.

I had a game similar to this that used plastic "record like"disc. It was a cool game, just not MF.

I did buy one and it is just a game where each player chooses offensive and defensive plays and the scoreboard shows the results and keeps score. I actually enjoyed playing it, but I bought it more just to add to my collection of football games. I also bought the Game Breaker NFL Trivia game.
Apparently Excalibur Electronics got the NFL License for football games and are using the same graphics on all the games they are producing. All packing and game board graphics are the same.

Sounds like it's a bit of a knock off of the old Foto-Electric Football, where you'd pick the offensive play, and lay the card out over the defensive play and turn a light on underneath to see if the ballcarrier was touched by any defenders. It came with a big scoreboard, as well.

are on sale at JCPenney's for $59.99. Regular price for both is $100. They are two different games made by the same company.

Just what I expected, garbage! Sounds like stratomatic combined with mattel's hand held game. Too bad for the NFL. They had a good thing going and they let it get away!
