Rocky Balboa Review....(2) Thumbs Up...
Ok Gang,
I saw Rocky Balboa last night. With exception to the original, this was the most believable Rocky film of them all. Stallone is 60 yrs old and it is remarkable the shape this guy is in. Many say that he is a paper champion but I disagree. Rocky probally inspired many to become boxers. That's like calling Mr. Myagi a paper Martial Artist. Are you kidding me, his character saved Martial Arts. ...but anyway... Many characters from 1976 are back. The acting was good, and the dramatic element was in-step with the original. No hookie performances; no Hulk Hogan cameos. It shows how many things can change in 30 years time, but that things also stay the same. Antonio Tarver also did an excellent job as Mason "The Line" Dixon. This movie makes the previous films better as you can now see the full circle of the character. Check it out guys as I think that you will all enjoy it. Last edited by Decal Master : 12-21-2006 at 10:14 AM. |

I Saw...
"The Pursuit of Happyness", the Will Smith feature and I must say I was trying to dig up a pistol (to kill myself) after about twenty minutes.

don't know about the movie as i haven't seen it yet but I did read the book about 6 months ago. From what i've been told about the movie it doesn't begin to cover the struggle that guy went through before that point. If you read at all pick up the book, its a quick read, but a lot of crazy stuff happened to that guy prior to whats in the movie.

LOL...I knew it...that "Pursuit Of..."movie is a chick-flick all the way.
I saw Rocky at Magic Johnson's in Largo where they also had the "Dreamgirls" premiere in Theatre #1. Man...it was like nesting in the chicken coop. Smelled like lip gloss, perfume, and activator all around. They stood in line for over an hour to get in. Haven't seen a line like that one since Revenge of the Sith midnight premeire at Arundel Mills (just replace the nerds with "honeyz"). But hey, I did get drunk pics of me with Darth Vader. I want to see if my man Eddie Murphy is puttin it down in Dreamgirls. I heard it got good reviews and Beyonce is never hard on the eyes. Also Dre...man...tough break for the boyz in blue. They really lack.....well, let's say you bowl with them....and I am very disappointed. A win against N.O. might help... |

Right...
And everyone wants to put it all on Manning (who by the way I still think is going to be an excellent QB) when there is enough blame to go around for everybody.

I guess. The numbers don't lie. He is good in the clutch. He will give you a 300 yard afternoon. But he throws too many interceptions. We have two backs averaging over 4.5 yards per carry. Why do we have so many turnovers? Manning has lost as many games this year for us as he has won.
The jury is still out, but I agree that he will be around with the Giants for years to come. |
