Default spread offense

how many of you coaches run a spread offense were the QB can and will run...we do...the QB can be on a magnet on up to 15 yards behind the LOS and may at anytime stop play to remove said magnets..then the QB may pass or hand off or run..many time when the QB runs he can get big yardage...i know a lot of you guys don't let the QB run..may I ask you WHY NOT

Default Can I get in?

Fellas,
Wolvy is right! In my Case, I believe the QB is the field general. In BMEFA and BEFL we don't use magnets. Put the QB on a blazing TTC in turn the dial to hold him in place. If the opportunity presents, I let Brad or Drew Blaze down field on D'em chumps! This maybe the only time you see me smile!rtfl$
Fellas, you gotta let the QB have more options. Let that rascle run!!Thanks Wolvy!

I have used the QB a number of times and score on a 30 + yard runs. I believe in using all weapons that I have access to.

That is how we play it.

My quarterback runs every play. Sometimes, he stops to pass. Sometimes, he doesn't.

Default running QB

in most cases, the "running QB" gets to hold the ball a lot. my only issue is when the QB hands the ball off, he now becomes an extra blocker.... in 'real-time' the QB will not be a blocker......

I don't use the QB as the main runner, but I do use him to creat passing lanes by moving him around.....

Default Spread works in Wellington

Wellington Rules Football

QB mounted on base
QB must be angled away from line of scrimmage at presnap
QB must hover for prespecified amount of seconds then stop board for pass attempt
QB may scramble after pass stoppage if no receiver found
QB if touched prior to pass stoppage is sacked

QB from shotgun, or pistol (4 yd gun)can run normal, (left, middle, right)
bootleg, (backs one way, QB solo other way)
option ( real time dive handoff declaration, or stoppage to execute pitch

QB putting the QB 15 yds deep is both unrealistic and illegal , you can make him run back that far post snap, but if you know how to pass protect, BECAUSE THE QB IS NOW A LIVE TARGET, its not a problem

Our play system using the spread, or any other offense for that matter, eliminates cheesy hot potato football, where whomever is open can keep it,

Default spread

another way we allow the QB to be part off the offense is the QB may be turned backwards and dropback up to 15 yards and stop there and pass IF no one is open the QB may head to the LOS and have one more stop up to the LOS to pass,,,after that stop if he does not pass he may run...BUT on any stop the QB does the defense gets to angle ANY player not engaged...works great

Default Defensive follow up

we allow all non dl and non blitzers (basically man or zone pass defenders to
angle to attack.
