Benchwarmers Mozeek
Mozeek,
This is a scene I am doing called the Steel Curtain. It features Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Mel Blount, Dwight White, LC Greenwood, Ernie Holmes, and Andy Russell. This scene took about 1 hour to put the basics together. Is this what you were talking about or wanting? Reg |

4 Phases of Painting
One of the greatest things about the figures is that they all were created from true-to-life NFL and NCAA stars. So in their natural state, they just look like any common figure. But as you begin to "slap" the paints on in the initial phase, things suddenly start to change.
In the initial stage, my only interest here was to get their faces and arms on. I don't care about jerseys initially or even pants. After that is done, the second phase shows the painting of the pants, jerseys, socks, and hats. Because you did the intiial phase first, this speeds up the painting and it makes for less messiness. Second phase shows the Steelers are coming to life! I loved to hate the Steelers. However, they made for a both colorful yet easy uniform to paint. Jack Ham is the one with the side burns. The others will start to become obvious once numbers are put on them. Other things like Gatorade, a fire, and a little mud will be added as the process continues on. Reg |

The Numbers
I ponder the question, "Why do I continue to do this? To try to share the information?" I have no good answer!
I just want people to know you can have these things and make them look as real as you wish. So, here are the numbers and the detailing begins. Phase 3, which include detailing towels over the player's heads, touch-up work, and putting in facial features. This is where the real work begins. The last phase of painbting will be quality assurance. |

More Detailing
"Back in the Day" when games were played outside in the cold, in the rain, in the snow, teams used big barrels and started up a fire to keep warm. This is being added in this illustration. Also, some players have water bottles and the names have been put on the players as well.
If you want to make it as real as possible, these are the necessary evils of bringing things to life! I hope this inspires you to create your own sideline scenes. |

Reggie
You don't have to call them benchwarmers. They couldn't help being so good that they didn't stay on the field that long. Excellent Job.
