why do it with paint?
Why bulk em up with paint. Just weight the base. I got an upclose look at how this is done in Texas at the home of Double R Reg Rutledge. U can use small peices of magnetic adhesive tape. which fit on the bases perfect underneath, metallite also makes some small square jewlery making peices that can also be useful for bringing your squad up to 4.0

Paint takes away...
from the look of the detailed player. Like Biglock said, used a strip of adhesive magnet. You can get this at a Michaels or even Walmart. It does not take much. What you need is a weight scale to make certain you get to the weight that you need.

Tape
I use lead tape for the weight. If I need different weights I can adjust up or down. The magnetic tape works as well.

If you want to be at 4.0, and don't want to be over.. keep your figures to 2.7 grams max.. That way you can put just about any base under the figure.. (not counting boiled) I use clear coat to put some extra weight on my figures. |

Please post a pic
Coaches post a pic of magnetic tape. I know what the lead looks like.

Here's What I Use
DON'T GOOP YOUR PLAYERS UP WITH EXTRA CLEARCOAT!!! I've seen some HORRIFIC paint jobs due to excessive Mod Podge or Clearcoat.
All ya gotta do is cut a few strips of magnetic business card and put one between the platform and figure, and then smaller pieces under the base. If you use an All-FF.com OL on TTCs then there is no need to add weight to any of them. Actually, I have 4 ProLine Rookies on Offense and 4 on Defense and they are all under 4.0. They just work for me that way. 4.0 doesn't mean you have to beef each and every player up, it's just the limit. There are very functional players under that weight. It's just how YOU coach them. Good Luck. |

Andre KC,
Go to the tips section, I created a post with pictures for how to weight ANY team to play up to 4.0. ANY TEAM can play 4.0, no team is obsolete. The method that I use is the reuseable adhesive (putty). This stuff would allow you to weight a team one day, and take it off the next. Jimbo's suggestion is a very good one too, its just slightly less reverseable but its a nice clean technique. Regards, Joe

why?
if you have to add some kind of weight , it being lead tape or magnetic tape or putty. then why go to a 4.0 weighted team why not just go with whatever
a reg r fig + the weight of the bases as your weight limit. if you have to add something ,then to me this is not right.

Sorry 2 bring this up but...
If you can use magnets at 4.0, then why not boiled bases as long as the figure with the base attached is 4.0 or less?
