Thank Goodness the BCS picked Florida ...
We almost had Ohio State vs. Michigan in the Championship game! I thought the upper teams of the Big Ten were overrated all year. I know Ohio State beat Texas but so did Kansas State. Michigan did have a good win against Wisconsin but the Notre Dame win was overrated. I've seen a Big Ten and Notre Dame bias in the media and it was evident last night as Corso blamed the 52 day layoff for Ohio State's loss. He also gave most of the credit to the Illinois coach Ron Zook for recruiting all of Florida's players.
I just want to finally give some love to the SEC: the true championship game would have been LSU vs. Florida. Facts: Ohio State 0-8 vs SEC in bowl games. Notre Dame losers of last 9 bowl games (NCAA record). 2002: Auburn 12-0 SEC Champs - left out in the cold for a national championship. Peyton Manning of Tennessee (holder of most SEC passing records) loses the heisman to Charles Woodson of Michigan. You decide. beenutt

Lee Corso...
Is an idiot. Ever notice guys like Corso, Salisbury, Tom Jackson, Hodge who have never done anything special and/or won anything always get the best jobs in announcing and we are supposed to listen to them?

Tom Jackson
People's Champ -
Tom Jackson was a excellent LB that played on the losing Broncos teams of the 70-80's. I like his style on the tube. Lee Corso and the others you named are questionable at best. I agree with you Beenutt on the 12-0 Auburn team........ |

You wanna know why I hate Tom Jackson?
Two reasons. First, he is president of the I hate T.O. club and will never say anything impartial about the guy and always takes cheap shots at him and tries to make something out of nothing when it comes to the guy.
Second, and the main reason, the week after the Rush Limbaugh comments on Donovan McNabb he says "(waaah) i was sooooooo shocked and outraged, blah, blah, blah...", and starts taking cheap shots at Limbaugh when the man is not there to defend himself, yet you were there when he said it, which makes you a coward. That is why I hate Tom Jackson. And that homo Ron Jaworski but at least he does know his X's and O's.. Last edited by THE PEOPLE'S CHAMP : 01-09-2007 at 04:19 PM. Reason: spelling |

If I had a vote, I'd say Florida 1 and LSU 2. This is really the way it should be, but then the SEC would be hated even more.
As for the 51 day layoff, they could spin that anyway they want. Meyer could say it gave him more time to come up with a winning game plan! The bottom line is that Florida whipped them, and OSU had the chance to do the same, but they choked. None of the Ohio State fans I know are crying about it, but ESPN can't stop making excuses. Where is Herbstreit? I haven't heard any great quotes from him today. He's probably under a rock somewhere! |

Thank God For...
...miniature football!!! Do SEC Coaches play better than Big Ten Coaches or better than ACC Coaches or PAC-10 or or Big 12 or MWAC or MAC or Ivy League or SWAC or Independents??? Let's find out! Let's get the National Miniature College Football Bowl Series rolling! There are 119 Div. 1A teams to choose from according to where you live - NO DOUBLES!!! Then we can see who the TRUE NATIONAL CHAMP is. I've already written rules that distinguish College from Pro i.e. 1 "foot" inbounds; fullhouse backfield, pitch/option, player down, equal opp. OT, sacks = rushing yards, etc.
Only thing left is to pick your team - according to Conference you live in - 'cause you gotta play your Conference - and agree on a date to play Championships - Miggle or BRAWL, for example. Gimme ILLINOIS or NORTHWESTERN if IlliniDave wants in. |

Bull Championship ****
I'm tired of everybody hollering how good the sec is. Most of there southern teams get to play year round in good weather for one so they are always playing football. Michigan should have gotten a shot at Ohio State due to their lost was better than Florida's was. how can you say Auburn is a better team than Michigan when they lost to the number 1 rank team at that time. then you get screwed because you didn't play for two weeks. Now before you guys start hollering at me i do blame the big 11(not 10) because you cannot live in the dark age's of not having a championship game in your conference. but i also feel that if last night game took place the first week in December that Florida would had got there brain's beat in. btower06 hating on the acc and sec because they are Overrated

Hey beenutt and O-Schemer. I've got a problem with your #1,#2 picks. Floirda should definitly be the number one team no if ands or buts about it. But no one here is giving any credit to Boise St. LSU had a decent season but i didnt even think they were the second best team in there conference (Arkansas). Plus there Bowl win over Notre Dame was impresive, but Notre Dame proved this year that they really cant beat an ranked team (1-3 this year) Boise St. didn't have nearly as tough as a schedule but finishing undefeated an entire season is impresive even if you do play Shmuck teams every week. But they should be number 2 for one reason. Heart. Not many people gave them a chance against Oklahoma, plus when they scored there late TD they could have kicked it safe, but they chose to win the game. That, in my book deservs the number 2 ranking. Heres my top 5 at the end of the season
#1 Florida #2 Boise St. #3 LSU #3 (not a typo they should be tied with LSU) USC #5 Louisville |

boise
I love Boise too but here are their away games this year: Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico State, Idaho, San Jose State and Nevada. LSU had away games with Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Arkansas. For Boise to be completely legitimate, they must play a couple of big name teams on the road each year. They beat Oklahoma fair and square but they were getting beat up pretty bad at the end of that game. I have major doubts that they could play the big boys week in and week out without losing at least two games probably more like three. They did play at Georgia last year and got beat pretty bad.
LSU was the second best team in the SEC: they beat Arkansas at Arkansas the last game of the year. The reason Arkansas won the west is because they did not have to play Florida like Auburn and LSU did. You can tell by the team speed on both sides of the ball that LSU and Florida were easily the two best teams. beenutt
