Tweaking A Miggle 620 Board

Got a Miggle 620 Board for Xmas. Today was the first day I fired it up.
Maybe it's me, but the motor was not as responsive to my adjusting the
speed as my old 620 board from 37 years ago. Maybe it's me. I don't know?
Is there anything I can do to make the motor more responsive or speed sensitive?

Turn your board over and hit the motor with a 4 lb. hammer, you'll be good to go.

Those boards are notorious for not being flat, do you have any crowns in the field? The one I had was pretty bad, it took some work to flatten it out, the board will respond better to speed changes when it's flat. That was my experience.

The Miggle 620 was such a disappointment.

I have probably spent as much time as anyone messing around with the new 620. I have made radical changes to mine from starting with duct tape to bolts and zip ties.

In short, it will never be as good as an old 620. Mine is at least useable at this point but with 4 other 620's in the house it is just collecting dust and most likely, will never be used again.

Here is what I did.

• Removed the rods
• Attempted the binder clip method-No success
• Tried Duct taping the side rails to the outer rail-worked till the tape gave out.
• Drilled holes through the outer rail to match with the holes on the inner rail and put bolts through each hole and tightened till the field was flat across its entirety
• Later found out that I could of used zip ties in place of the bolts.
• zip tie the cord to the field so that the motor doesn't move when you work the switch
• Lastly, drilled a hole through the outer rail next to the motor and ran a bolt in so that it touched the motor. it now acts as a second speed adjustment and actually gave the field enough umph to be useable.

Do the last four steps or send it back for a refund. I support Miggle all I can but this one is quite frankly...a stinker!!

Here is a picture of what weirdwolf is talking about with the zip tie. Now you will not see the bolts outside of the frame. Just drill a hole at the bottom of the frame and then put the zip tie threw it.
