The Hobby Experience

[Electric Coach]

My coworker and I were talking about how our respective hobby interest exists within our lives as adults. By the way, he is a serious hunter. Last year, he showed me a picture of an Elk that he stalked for 3 days before killing it. It was huge. He was hiding behind it when the picture was taken.

He asked do I ever get tired of playing electric football. I told him, “No, I do not”. That opened a discussion about the hobby. His main concern was how the players move on the table. I talked to him about base tweaking and how essential it is to this hobby. It is the difference between an exciting or so-so hobby experience. I also told him that it takes work to get a team to play effectively.

Along with that, I made it clear that unlike my childhood, I cannot devote day after day to playing the game. We both agreed that our respective hobbies hunting and electric football must coexist with everyday adult life.

Electric Coach its odd, but I had a similar experience with a gentleman named Hal who is a big R/C hobbyist. I was in the R/C store and i was purchasing some Pactra Trim that makes excellent chin straps, Hal saw me and asked if I was purchasing the Trim for a pinstriping project, I told him what I using the trim for and he kinda giggled, Hal said how he played the game many years ago but stopped for the same reasons most peeps give up EF/MF, no player control. Luckily I had my PDA phone, and I had some good figure pics on it, and I had a link To FF.com on the phone as well, he was amazed to see how far the game had evolved. He even stated wow you guys try to go realer than us in R/C. Hal and I are now friends and he is a new prospective coach for the SO Flo league, so sometimes all it takes is showing people what EF/MF is now, not what it used to be.

I don’t see my coworker becoming an electric football coach because he has never done it. I’m not saying that a person has to have played it before to get into it. I find that people who have never played stay that way. He just asked me about it because we talk all the time about a lot of things. This particular conversation was about what we like to do in our spare time.

People that I work with know of the hobby, but they don’t want to get involved. For some, there isn’t enough time and\or money to commit to playing. They compare their past experiences with the game to our experiences. They rather listen to me talk about different aspects of the hobby. They also watch the videos that I have created as well as other videos that the community have on You Tube.

This upcoming You Tube production, which is coming along well is really going to blow them away.
