Default Miniature Football Is FINALLY Returning To Northern California

Greetings to all of my fellow coaches in Miniature Football. I hope that all of you are doing well.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where MF has been nearly non existent for the last five or six years. Yes I remained active on the chatboards and collected many teams along with bases but no players. The only time that I faced another opponent on a gameboard was at the 2007 and 2008 Seawall Brawl. Other than that I just played solitaire and talked MF with coaches throughout the country. That changed in February. A new coach in my area by the name of Harold aka "raiderhp" came on the Miggle chatboard. As you know I often welcome newbies to the hobby. This newbie was different and special. He lived in my area but an hour and a half away from me. I contacted the sports bar where the guys from the old BAEFL used to play. Things have changed over the years and scheduling there was difficult. To make a long story short I went online and got the numbers of numerous sports bars in the area. This morning I gave Harold the numbers of four sports bars and I took the numbers of four others to call and see what we could come up with. Less than five minutes after I gave Harold the numbers he called back and said one of the bars said no problem. I was pleasantly stunned. We met this afternoon and scrimmaged for about two and a half hours. I am only disappointed that another coach in Elk Grove was unable to make it down for the scrimmage. Harold aka "raiderhp" is a newbie who is very excited about the hobby. I was able to show him some of the new features of the hobby during our scrimmage. We used the Strategy Divider and had a blast. He also really liked the custom figures that I used. So custom figure guys and base tweakers don't be surprised if you get a PM from Harold aka "raiderhp". One other bit of great news is that we will be meeting with another potential sports bar next weekend to see if they would not mind hosting us as well. It is always good to have a back up plan.

Have a good day guys and thanks to the newbie "raiderhp" Miniature Football is making a return to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Default Awesome!

Coach J,
Let me be the first to say congrats. I know we have talked numerous times and I know how jacked you must have been. Keep recruiting and before long I am sure you will have several Leaguemates.

Sounds great Coach J! Too bad I couldn't make it -- I was out of town. Next time I'll be there.

Thumbs up

Coach J,

I really appreciated our opportunity to get together this past weekend and connect. I thought it was a very valuable opportunity & start to put things in motion to resurrect the intrest in EF in the area. As you & I both know, the last time that there was any real presense in the area was about 6-7 years ago. I was so looking forward to participate when things fell through.
Now, we're putting this area back on the map. Coaches are starting to pop up and now that we have some pretty solid site options, I look forward to kicking off things in the Bay Area very soon. The scrimmaging was quite valuable & I learned a lot of things in a very short time.It was a great experience.
I look forward to getting the league under way soon. At this point, I'm so happy to see the EF interest in the area start to re-surface again,I'm just taking the upcoming league as really more of a learning experience & thought we will establish The Bay Area as a strong force in the EF Community. Thanks to all you coaches out there for the love & support & thanks Coach J for being an embassador & friend in the community.

Default That's great news for the Bay Area

It has been some years since there was a league out there. Guys like Ben (sage) and Garrett( the G-man) were at the forefront of the BAEFL. Hopefully you can bring some of the coaches from that league out of retirement.
Use those cards that came with your Tweak mag, and print up some flyers to promote your league.

Good luck

If I make that 49ers game this season coach J, i will look you up.

Congrats Bay Area

Harold, great to have you on board

Default good for you

I'll be in the San Francisco area from September 6th to 16th (oh BTW, i have tickets for the 49ers game opener vs Arizona..) and then preparing my EF season in Montreal (Canada) with 4 players for beginning as well as my custom hockey game (Flickhockey) which we're gonna be about 20 guys.

Drop me a line or send me a PM

Regards

Benster

Default Are you saying that you have them for me????

Or you saying you have them, and they are accounted for???? Don't be getting me all worked up like that Ben!!!!!

Every year I debate getting season tickets, as that is the best way to make sure you have the option of every game. Then sell the games I can not make. I hear the 49ers will be moving out of Candlestick, 3-com, Monster, Bill Walsh stadium really soon. I want to see at least 1 game there before they leave.

Take pictures of the game
