Default have we gone too far???

I saw an ad in the tweak for bases that have what appears to have suction cups...and says "never let a receiver get open again:...

if no receiver gets open and in most league's the QB cant run....how are you going to move the ball...that means every pass play the QB is going to get sacked

have we gone to far???

I know the inventor of that base will not like this post..but I thought it had to be asked

what do you think

Default Innovation is always a good thing

I can not fault this man or company for being innovative. However, I know something like that would never get approved in the leagues I am in. If he created these for his league and they are allowed, he stayed within the league guidelines.

I think all inventions will be judged based on the usage of that particular product by the masses. I have all too often had things originally looked at as "over-the-top" only to see it become a part of the culture.

In 1993, I was working on a razor flip-phone with my patent team at Nortel. We were working in conjunction with Ericsson on this "new technology". Most of the industry leaders posed that same question "Have we went too far?" It was a big article in all the technology magazines about our research and patent team. If we would have listened to what the mags were saying, people today would still be walking around with those bulky handheld cellphones.

If guys like Thomas Edison and Louis Pastuer and Alexander Graham Bell and Garrett P. Morgan would have listened to the negative, the 21st century would not be what it is today.

So I guess it is difficult for me, as an inventor, to be in judgment of anyone's innovative spirit. That is what pushes our world into great breakthroughs. The market will determine its usefulness.

Just an opinion from a person who believes in innovation.

Reg

Default innovations , good ? bad ?

I agree with Reg in some sense. Anybody can invent something but its up to each individual league/group to approve it for use whatever it may be. I use things in my solitaire league that some leagues approve/disapprove. I think its up to the individual as well. I remember reading a few years ago on miggle's forum about some idea that someone was talking about and a few left post that it would never work. That subject was an electonic scoreboard , which miggle has and somebody here will develope one really soon , as I've read in some post that guys are already inquiring about one. What I'm trying to say is innovations are happening in this hobby all the time , its up to each individual of how they impliment it into their game.

Talking Got you!

The ad was the genius of RavenAl...it was a gag ad, however I could see some applications for this in the future...

Joke ad. Anything, (as in previous issues) from Crazy Harrys' EF Surplus is our way of adding a bit of humor to the magazine.

Can I have a big "DOH!"

You guys need to relax a bit. Not everything in life is as serious as Miniature Football...
