![]() COACHES,
I hear many talk up first run bases. is there that much of a significant diff in there performance. Some coaches can make any base dance and some really praise the first run stuff. If it's a first run, why isn't it a alway's run base. Where is the fork in the road where the bases turn for the worst. Doesn't the same company that made the first runs make the last runs. I noticed michigan joe, norbert and jim davis prongs are as soft as can be when you touch them. Is that a result of first run bases, or the superiority in the tweekment of them. I noticed that the softer prongs are able to Rodney king there way down field at break neck speed. WHAT GIVES MANTARAYDRE

![]() it has been my experience that the first run of any base is poured with virgin plastic so as to be perfect and get you hooked from the start, then the second, third. etc is just the recycled harder plastics and not virgin plastic so it is alittle tougher to work with.
thats not saying that the companies do it on purpose... it actually is the manufacture plant that screws it up and we pay for it.

![]() It's poor quality control, plain and simple, if you have a plastic receipe for each batch, you can go back and replicate that successful run of bases. When you have companies making these things and not keeping exact records of everything then not being able to duplicate them exactly as they were made the first time is not a surprise.
Every little variable can change the outcome of the final product, temperature, times, plastic type, content, etc...

![]() Me and Jim have received 6 DIFFERENT samples sofar, last 2 were allmost there but not perfect, .............all these cats had to do was put whatever they used on file and be done with it, Miggle is doing there VERY BEST on this to make sure we get the best base possible, I have been in contact with them on the regular and they are trying VERY hard.
P.S. The second and 3rd runs were pretty good also, that darn 4th one is when they turned out to be to hard. Norbert Revels

![]() Jim is a perfectionist like I am when it comes to these bases, example, that 5th batch I was gonna go with it, but Jim was not totally 110% happy with them, we were going back and forth like boxers, LOL, (we both have to agree on a sample)................we should get the next samples in this saturday or monday.
P.S. I am very happy that Miggle is doing what they are doing to insure we get the best prolines possible. ![]() Norbert Revels

![]() Thank you Jim for helping Miggle get us some decent product back.
I know if you both agree on a base finally we will be looking for Miggle to start cranking them out.

i am sure that it was probably the supplier of the bases trying to save a few bucks, or it is possible that the plastic, or an additive used in the original runs, was discontinued. this sort of thing happens all of the time. they probably do not use the bases, therefore did not figure that it mattered whether they used this plastic or that plastic. i think that it is great that miggle is being as thorough as they are with this. ![]()
