Default MFCA Purchase of An NFL License!

Comrads:

Wouldn't it be great for the MFCA to purchase a NFL license from NFL properties so that it can sell products a bring in revenue --no matter how meager the monetary rewards will be?

Can it be done?

Has it been discussed?

Default NFL License

It could be done...ya got a $100000.00?
The biggest license crooks in the business are just that,if you don't believe it
go shopping for a sweatshirt then shop for one with anything NFL on it,
try anything with an NFL logo on it.The NFL has had it all their own way for a long time, on and off the field and in court, they are a money making machine.
Even JC Penny and Walmart are paying top buck for the NFL license and they have to buy in tremendous quantities to offset the cost of doing business with the them, even with that there's a huge price difference in a NFL tee shirt and anything else with a logo on it in their stores.
The NFL has priced the average person out of ever seeing the Super Bowl and
next it will be the regular season games because the buck is what counts.
Kinda cool idea but unless we get 2000 new members we'll be a little short
I think.

Default Goal of 2,000 Members

Larue:

Then that should be one of the long-term goals here --2,000 to 3,000 members.

Unfortunately, we are not the Red Cross, and we are not saving lives so we cannot realistically do membership drives.

I guess the popularity of EF/MF must naturally expand to get those sorta numbers, yet it can be a long-range goal.

Thanks for the insight.

Default one suggestion: expand over the US

Think about it for a second

Just take a look in Canada where NFL is the 2nd major sports in TV ratings (1st: NHL hockey, 2nd: NFL and 3rd: CFL) but also in Mexico and also some countries in Europe (UK & Germany espacilly) and you'll be able to get your 2000 members.

Need some inputs, drop me a line or send me a PM

Default 2,000 to 3,000

I see what you mean.

But it is a realistic goal in the years to come.

I'm just trying to figure out the math --I'm a writer , but at $100,000 divided by 3,000 or even 2,000. That comes up to about $75.00 per member(excuse my math, but my calculator is missing, not to mention legal fees, and taking in the possibility that licensing fee will probably go up each year.

Still, having that license is a ******** good investment any way you look at it. Anything related to sports is big time in America. Just visit the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue, and you'll get my drift.

What must be investigated is what we can do with the license? What can we sell? What is the market? How do we reach that market?

It is a nice thought. But.......

We get the license, then what?

We'll need to sell $250,000 worth of NFL licensed items to pay for next years license, not to metion supplies, and pay the people to make the items, etc....

Unless you have the funds, resources and space, it's not a good investment at all. They's just find something else to charge you for. Then, they see you making more money, they'll charge more on the royalties. Which now is around 9% of sales on top of the license itself.

Still, it's not a good investment.

Default Whew!

Whew!

That is quite a fee.

I can see your point very clearly.

It was thought in my head, but from what you said, you virtually have to be a [size="7"]Big money-maker to come out on top.

Thanks for the insight.
