The reason i have embraced the MPFL system is due to it's format which is how i view it every sunday. i am a big believer in creating play's and watching them develop. I never had that opportunity playing other styles. Wth the usage of stoppages, i can direct my receiver to run his basic route, during the next stoppage i can view the defense then see if i want him to run an out or a slant. Then determine where to pur the ball down.

on a running play, i wan't my BERNIE PARMELEE to be able to change directions either into a hole or swing outside. This is the best venue in our hobby today that would allow me to do that. ' It's just what i wan't to do with my team and my creation. I personally wan't that feeling of an NFL sunday. With this system and the most professional looking webite i feel a level of comfort in the MPFL.

Just by speaking with ant and sharing his vision over the years, i feel he is the consumate commisioner. You can tell your dealing with a true leader in the hobby. His passion for what he is doing is unmeasured. I admire his professional when he told me if anyone want's to join the league they must register via the website, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. This is his way of keeping record of all the leagues activities.

When i first prposed starting a league in new york, which now is the B.A.M.. i originally asked to play the MPFL style. Others in the league chose to play the shootout serious style which was fine. But my vision was to play the MPFL in new york. The shootout series is fine with me. Reg is also a massive leader /professional running the TEXAS CAMP. It's not like you favor one style over the other, you must play what makes you feel fell the most comfortable.

many people in the same business just have different idea's on how things should be. we all must go where we are comfortable and support in area's we are not a part of. maybe we should embrace that no one style is better than the other, but make sure you are playing the style you wan't for your team.

I'm confused here by your statement. You were at my house and we had Morgan on the phone. This was this past January when we were discussing which rule set we were going to use for the BAMFL. All three of us voted for the TSO rule set. I do not remember you throwing you vote in for MPFL? It was a unanimous vote for the TSO rule set.

How many full competitive games have you played under the MPFL system?

I think i played at least 7 or 8 plus the texas shootout games (pre-lims) for 2 years.

Dre- I'm asking about MPFL games. Reason I ask is only because I'm curious to your thoughts of playing with all of the stoppages in the form of competition. For me, I've used it for practice sessions (solitaire) and I've found it interesting to use the stoppages to guage how the players are performing, but I've never played with it competitively. I tried with my son a couple times after watching the DVD but he lasted only about 5 minutes because he got upset with me stopping the board all the time. He liked the first stoppage (and so did I) but it was very time consuming to even get in one possesion so we just used the first stoppage and allowed each other to adjust three players (which in very similar to the 3 audibles typical of traditional rules). One thing I can't help but notice is that the second and third stoppages take a lot of time just to run one play and for me they also eliminate the thrill of a RB ripping off an 80 yarder in 3-4 seconds (which I still say is the most exciting play in MF).

Keep us posted on your observations with the finer details of this ruleset the more you dive into it because it sounds like your pretty excited about it.

Every one seems to think that the stoppages slow the game down, they think you don't get big plays, actually they are wrong.

The board may stop as few as two times as many as all foure depending on what the players are doing and the choices you make.

Stopping the board engages you're intellect.
45 second polay clock, 20 seconds to adjust players, .8-1.5 board running time. Some plays last 30 seconds some last 4 minutes it just depends, it is a fast pace game. The time equals to game pressure with clock management.

I have played in other styles and officiated some games. I have found that coaches have 1 minute to set up, then another 10-15 seconds to adjust, then the board may run for 2-8 seconds, then another 30 seconds to do what ever.

Over all the playing time is about the same or a little less, with all the players on the field being involved in the play and not running away from the runner and you have players converging on every play.

It's like spending money, if you have $5.00, you buy something for $2.15 what is left over is $2.85, now do you throw away the $2.85 or do you use it ? What is left over once you stop the board $2.85 now what do you do with it? In the MPFL you use all of the $5.00, how ever in one stop you throw away the $2.85.

In short you are getting the most out of the game. I hope this helps
