the next genaration

guys this might have been touched on..but ill try anyway.

to keep this game we all love going..how do we reach out to the kids growing up now...i dont mean our children and like in my case grandchildren...but the kid who is about 9 to 13 years old who can carry the tourc and keep the game alive

the kids that are out there now...dont see the game in stores like when i was a kid.. the game was in every department store back then .or on tv like when i was an kid....i was at my grand daughters event at her school and i asked about 50 kids ages 11 to 13 if they had heard of electric football....and other than my grand child ...no kid had....when i told them about it...the reaction was sounds fun...or id like to see one..or that sounds cool....

so my question is...how do we reach the kids that are coming up now..how do we keep the game going for the next group of children......

A good marketing scheme. The kids today are part of what I like to call the NOW GENERATION. Remember, all they have to do is plug in a video game and away they go. Many are not going to like to paint or play a game that takes longer to set up than run a play. If our hobby is marketed as a strategy game then we may have a shot. The only young kids that I know of that are into electric football are my nephews. 13 and 11. They mention it at school and none of the others know what they are talking about.

I will be posting pictures of the winterfest youth tournament in the fest 07 post. I came away knowing that we need to encourage the younger generation to play. There should be and could be 20 in the picture.

In an effort to bring the game to the children we must keep in mind that they know more about football at this stage in there life than we did .

We should not try to force them to like what we like , but show them all that the hobby has to offer and let them pick for them self .

They should know and understand what this game is . Answer there question , and remember that they see football on tv , so if the games doesn't reflect what they see and know as football then that might be an issue .

In all fairness to the game of football. The thing I want my son to learn is the brotherhood of men and how diversity can be bridged by common interest and the willingness to open ourselves to others. That is what I see in my post "fest 07 " .

i introduced the game to my son (14) and he likes it so much that he showed it to 3 of his friends and they liked it so much i gave them some teams and bases i had extra to take home and they play everytime they come over on my big board ( even ignoring the Xbox and playstation) for hours. The real beauty of it is they play as they want to...with thier imagination and not just a joystick and monitor.
