Getting ready to construct team...need advice before I purchase

After going through different threads, I'm getting ready to create my team.

For now, I'm just going to order everything through Miggle to get me started. (Then, I can join Miggle tourneys)
I'm purchasing dark and white jersey teams of 22 players each. Each team will consist of 11 67 big men and 11 traditional size figures.

The 67 big men will be used for the OL, BB, TE, and DL. All other players will be traditional figures.

I'm going to get the following bases...
1. ProLine strong bases w/straight front and TTC...for OL
2. ProLine strong bases w/rounded front and TTC...for DL
3. 2006 Orange speed bases (TTC)...for pass rushers, loopers
4. 2004 polo green speed bases...RB, receivers, DBs
5. ProLine fast bases with round front...for kicking teams, returners

Does this cover everything I need? Is it too much? Do I need anything else?

I'd hold off on the Prolines for now. The plastic that they're using right now is not very good. They are working with a few coaches in trying to improve them. Most of us are waiting to hear that it's ok to purchase them.

Hate to see you waste your money.

Try doing a search on Prolines and check out the conversations/opinions about them.

You can tweak for great strength by using the standard TTC shell, remove the stock white dials and replace them with dials from the Proline TTC bases.

sounds like you sat down and made yourself a plan, what type of board do you run on, if i was just starting out ,before i buy a board i would go to other peoples houses and scrimmage on thier boards to see which one my team runs best on,i spent alot when i started out and half the boards i bought were non-compatible with my team, just trying to save ya some bread.

I would also order at least one set of Haiti Repros from Buzzball. My experience has been that the Haiti Repros work better especially the skilled positions and the tackle figures. Also the Haiti Repro figures are excellent after they have been customized. Don't want to confuse with the customization but for starters definitely get a set of Haiti Repros. Just for your information styx asked an excellent question in his reply when he asked which board you were planning to use. Do you have a gameboard yet and if yes what kind is it ? Figures have a tendency to respond differently on different boards. I also suggest you try to contact a coach in your area and run your figures on his board. Hope this helps.

My wife just got me a new 620 for Christmas. When I gave her my list, I had the 620 and the one that is the "Challenge" (aka former Super Bowl). After reading a few posts on the new 620, I crossed it (620) off. She probably figured that the bigger was better, so that's what was under the tree Christmas morning.

I did buy some BB figures and had thought about the Haiti repros, but changerd my mind.

I'm in the process of figuring which bases for which figures. I was surprised to see the strong round rookie bases (for defense) smoke the strong flat TTC bases (for the OL).

Love the Haiti repros. They are much better than the Miggle figures. Every aspect of the Fab Five have been cleaned up. The paint better, require NO sanding, and they decal much better. AS for their play, I can't say. However, I have painted and decaled hundreds of the players as well as Buzzball. Buzzball require sanding of the helmet rib for applying helmet stripes. FF.com also require this but like the Buzzball are well worth the trouble. BUzzball figures can also be dissasembled ( check out coach rips videos ) and reconfigured for a different look.
Bottom line is that I use all figures but avoid the Miggle figures because the Haiti repros are much better.
However, I know of a lot of the coaches that like the MIggle 67 big men as their size have some advantages in game play.
BUzzball fisgures and the Haiti repros can be easliy purchased on E-Bay.

Hey Vince, I got my new game a few weeks ago and I am in the same process as you are in making my first team. After establishing what position I want a certain player to be playing at, I then put a number on his jersey, and record it on paper. Right now I am not too worried about having nicely painted players,...just nicely playing players. Are you doing the same thing with the numbering,..if not, how do you know which player is which?

Also, I plan to have about 6 teams once they are all trained, and I will do each of them a little different and then determine which team worked out the best for me. I will determine this with a solitaire league of course, and yes there will be a championship!

As for games, I got the Miggle Electric Football Challenge game which is ok and fun for now,..my real plan is to either get a 308 or make my own board.
