MPFL Coaching Tip's #1
Coaching Tip #1
Manage you're game and play clock./ Side Line Area. / After the Play is Over Game Clock: If you do not watch the time in the 2 minute ( 5 minutes ), you might get off 2 plays. Take into account the play you call, you do not need to use all of the stoppages ( get all the yardage you can get and go down, if it aint there go down ) durring the 2 minute warning, and use you're time outs. Play clock: ( DO NOT USE THE TALKING TIMMER ) Coaches that use the talking timmer have more delay of game penalties when they go on the road and that home team doesn't have a talking timmer. Setting up on the play clock: 45 seconds, set up you're offensive/defensive line first, you should use about 5-6 seconds that will leave you with lets say 39 seconds to set up 6 players. Side Line area: Have a organized side line area, this will save you a lot, " A LOT OF TIME "!!! At the end of the play: The game clock will stop so that the data can be recorded. Use this free time wisely! (An extra 10-15 seconds of free time ) ( Place all you're player on you're side of the line of scrimmage except the runner and the tackler as the official writes down the data this is you're time to sub players as the play clock is not running. ) Once the official has the data recorded the game clock will start if the play was in bounds. If the play was an incomplete pass, or the runner went out of bounds, the clock will start on the snap, however eather way the play clock will start.
