Are you able to get together and scrimmage sometimes. i can come there if you like. If i dont drive, what stop is near your house on the LIRR. My Philosophy: no big plays
It is all situational, and a true test of your discipline in this game for sure.
1. I start the game in man with two over. With my corners playing bump and run, I can determine relatively early who can cover who. Sure, some guys will get beat but the objective is to get beat for some yards, not a touchdown. Eventually, around the middle of the first quarter you will have the desired matchups or delays. Now, when you see certain receivers in the game, and you know you can man D them. Bring the house! Getting the sack kills most drives and if you sack the QB the pressure is now on the offense. It's amazing what a passing coach will do once you pop his pride, er QB. My corners will hit you straight man, when you push through they will turn as you go by and run at an angle between the receiver and the QB for about 30-40 yards ideally. That takes 2-3 seconds. My blitzer alone takes less than that even with contact on the way. Just some ideas.
